Electronic humidifier or passive analog humidifier: Which is better?

The passive humidification of a humidor works very smoothly when correctly dimensioned, as the values cannot change quickly. Even if a humidifier is empty for a few days and the air values in the humidor drop, this is usually not a big problem. Provided the humidor's location is protected from light, nothing bad will happen.

On the other hand, an electronic humidifier that works without supervision and either fails unexpectedly or humidifies continuously is more than just inconvenient. Several days can pass before such a problem is noticed, which can be problematic in these cases.

Cigar Oasis

Question: I use a Cigar oasis magna in my cabinet. While the Display of the humidifer shows 65%, the hygrometer on top of the cabinet only shows about 50%. What should I do? Is there an actual difference?

Answer: The difference may be correct: Please check and adjust the gauge on top. Where have you placed the Magna? The Magna hygrometer received the full moisture airstream and shows higher values than the rest of the cabinet in the beginning. Please also make sure, it's calibrated correctly. I set up a Magna 3.0 myself some weeks ago to gain experience. It was about 10 points off and reading much too high. After setting, it works perfectly now. Please place the additional digital gauge somewhere in the middle and use it to control the humidity level. Please also place the Magna so that the airstream is provided in direction of the window. It will climb up to the top from there.

Question: The Cigar Oasis humidifier displays 99.9% humidity when switched on. What can I do?

Answer: This is apparently not unusual with Cigar Oasis due to the software. As soon as you set the calibration, the sensor measures normally. (Press arrow up and dot long at the same time, see instructions). If you do not want to set a deviation, please select the default value. U 0.
